Traditional dental implants function like screws anchored within the jawbone. In cases where significant bone loss has occurred, there may not be enough bone available to properly support them.
The IPS Preprosthetic® system is a patient-specific solution designed for these complex cases. Using detailed 3D imaging, a custom titanium framework is engineered to fit the exact contours of your jaw and is securely attached to the bone using specialized fixation screws.
This system is typically reserved for patients with severe bone loss (atrophy), those who have lost jaw bone due to trauma or tumor removal, or those for whom traditional bone grafting has failed. Your surgeon will use medical imaging to determine if this is the best treatment option for you.
In certain cases, traditional implant treatment with bone grafting can take 12 to 18 months of healing before final teeth are placed. With the IPS® framework providing immediate stability, treatment is often significantly accelerated, frequently enabling “immediate rehabilitation” with temporary teeth soon after surgery.
